Last year’s sale raised more than $180,000 to advance the League’s mission of improving our community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Over Tossed & Found’s 28-year history, the sale has raised more than $2.4 million to support JLW’s mission.
The Junior League of Washington (JLW) is an organization formed by, run by, and empowered by women. We are nearly 2,300 women committed to developing the potential of women and using our collective talents, strengths, and voices to improve the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. When JLW was founded in 1914, a small, inspired group of women united to address serious social issues impacting our greater Washington, DC, community, beginning with a focus on children’s welfare. Since then, thousands of JLW volunteers have devoted themselves to our community while developing their own leadership and volunteer skills and forging valuable friendships with fellow JLW members.
